Abstract : The system of water supply of the town of Fada N'Gourma knows difficulties to serve water to the population in the recent years. This situation is crucial because some subscribers can spend months without access to drinking water in their connection. This is why it was imperative for the National Office of water and sanitation to find urgent and long term solutions for this problem. The DWS system composed to date by one (01) dam, six (06) water drilling, two (02) water towers with total capacity of 450 m3, a water block with of 150 m3 of capacity, a water treatment plant with 100 m3/h capacity and a hydraulic network of 121.5 Km. The optimization study carried out aims to find a short-term solution for the improvement of the service conditions. It goes through a complete diagnosis of the DWS system and simulations on the network using the Epanet software. The results show that the installation of a new pump of 150 m3 / h, the replacement of the agitator of the decanter Accelerator followed by an alternating distribution through a sectorization of the network and the replacement of the defective valves allow all subscribers access to drinking water. In the long term, this involves the construction of a new 400 m3 / h treatment plant downstream of the dam and storage infrastructures consisting of two water block with a total capacity of 2100 m3, a recovery water block of 200 m3 and finally a new water tower of 1100 m3 capacity. |
