Abstract : The localities of Lago and Yitaoré are two villages in the commune of Gourcy, Zondoma province, a region of northern Burkina Faso. These two villages have a drinking water access rate of 65.7% provided exclusively by human powered pumps and wells. It is in this context that the Ministry of Water and Sanitation has initiated a project to implement a multi-village drinking water supply system for populations of both villages. This study: "Design and dimensioning of a multi-village drinking water supply system: case of Lago and Yitaoré, commune of Gourcy" shows the technical design of the drinking water supply system (water tower, drilling, network control, standpipe, private connection, structure of functionality, control structure and protection of facilities). With an estimated population of 9624 inhabitants at the end of the project in 2040, a daily need of 289.6m3, a water tower of 80m3, the AEP system will serve 13 standpipes, equipped with two 0.5l / s taps and 50 private connections from a mixed network (branched and three meshes). After the design, simulations of pipe breaks were made on the Epanet software in order to assess the possible impact on the water supply. The overall cost of the project was estimated at 283,798,495 FCFA and a cost per cubic meter of water at 378 F CFA. The installations of the AEP system will be powered by photovoltaic panels and an additional generator. Special emphasis was given to the management style by the future farmer; an environmental management plan has also been proposed to mitigate the environmental impacts of the project. |
