Abstract : The production of beers and carbonated drinks requires a large use of primary resources, the largest of which is water which accounts for 95% of these products hence the need to optimize the use of this resource to cope with the decrease in water resources with a view to developing the treated wastewater from the plant. The present study explores the possibility of reusing the plant's wastewater internally or for the irrigation of ready fields in the river the study was conducted through an inventory of the unit's wastewater management industrial, the design of a new treatment structure, the evaluation of the investment and operating costs of the proposed new system. The results obtained show values of effluent discharge rates reaching 25 m³ / h; these waters are highly polluted, the maximum observed values of COD (2000 mg / 1), BOD5 (400 mg / 1), and 625 mg / 1 for MES. The effluents show a significant variation in terms of temperature reaching 45 ° c and values of PH between 6.5-7.5 which give an acid to neutral character to plant effluents. We note that these different values are all above the standard values of discharges without environmental risk and greatly exceed the contents allowed, this situation could have harmful effects on the quality of the water. To solve these problems we studied two scenarios, namely the use of a settling tank and the use of a bioreactor with submerged membrane. The space criterion, the reasons for efficiency, and certain local conditions allowed us to opt for the setting up of a bioreactor with submerged membrane coupled to the already existing activated sludge system; for a cost investment of 1 362 893 861 FCFA. The management of sewage sludge will allow an agricultural valorization by amendment of this thickened and dehydrated sludge in the fields. The implementation of this system will contribute to the depollution of the Mfoundi River and will help to respond to certain water needs inside the plant. Recommendations have been made to this solution in order to add value to the water obtained from this treatment and to limit water losses. |
