Abstract : The village of Sangha Natenga is the administrative center of the Sangha commune, located in the Koulpelogo province, Nakambe region, Burkina Faso. The study aims to sustainably improve the population's access to water. The drinking water supply for the population is provided by 41 hand pumps, 7 modern wells, and 3 autonomous water stations, covering 87.2% of the population's water needs (INO, 2024). The existing AEPS system, built in 2016, consisting of a borehole, a 50m³ metal water tower, and a branched network with 8 service points, is not operational. With a population of 3,884 inhabitants in 2019 (RGPH 2019), it is expected to reach 6,727 inhabitants by 2040. The rehabilitation and expansion of the AEPS will allow 90% of the village population to have access to drinking water, with 70% served by individual connections and 20% by public water points. The rehabilitation and expansion of the AEPS will allow 90% of the village population to have access to drinking water, with 70% served by individual connections and 20% by public water points. The peak daily demand will reach 316.04 m³ in 2040.The system will operate two boreholes with a total hourly production of 20 m³. Pumping will be ensured by two pumps with a flow rate of 10 m³/h each, operating 16 hours per day. Energy supply will be provided by two photovoltaic solar fields with capacities of 5000 Wp and 7000 Wp in addition to the SONABEL. The discharge network has a total length of 4.41 km for both sites and is made up of HDPE PN16 DN90 pipes. A new metallic water tower with a capacity of 80m³ will provide storage and water distribution for the entire village. The branched distribution network, 8.23 km long, consists of HDPE PN10 pipes with nominal diameters ranging from 50mm to 160mm. Service will be provided through 11 water hydrants and 524 private connections. The estimated cost of the works is 299,835,640FCFA including taxes, and the production cost of water is 169 FCFA/m³. The contractual selling price is 400 FCFA/m³ at the hydrants and 450 FCFA/m³ at the domestic connections. The management mode of the AEPS is lease-based. |
