It consists of four part. Part 1 presents the african environment through broad geological features, general landform, climate, vegetation and parent materials of the soils. Part 2 treats of the mapping units based on the raw mineral soils, weakly developed soils, calcimorphic soils, vertisols and sililar soils, podsolic soils and lessives or highveld pseudopodsolic soils, eutrophic brown soils of tropical regions, red and brown mediterranean soils, etc. Part 3 shows characteristic profiles and analytical data. Part 4 lastly concerns the map. It gives the legend, the representation of the units on the maps, the territorial distribution of the units and the surfaces covered by each of the units and associations. |
