Note générale :	The body of this report begins in chapter 2 with a brief survey of development processes, with particular attention to technical influences. This survey is intended only to provide a background for the later more detailed analysis of the relation between technological decisions and economic, and other social goals and processes. Alternative criteria for technological appropriateness are described and analyzed in chapter 3. Chapter 4 and 5 review the factors that determine the general effectiveness of a developing country in making appropriats choices of technology. In chapter 6, some of the unique features of the development processes in the agricultural sectors are surveyed and their significance for choice of appropriate technologie is examined. Chapter 7 considers briefly development processes and technical choice in small-scale enterprise and the service sectors.
