Some of the areas, sources and types of pollution taking place in the river systems have been indentified. The type of river pollution which was found to have the greatest adverse impact was the dicharge of industrial effluents physico-chemical data of some of the rivers are given to show how the quality of the rivers have been changing in time and space.
