Recent studied show that agro - industrial complexes can increase food production, generate foreign exchange, incerease employment and, at the some time, provide a return on investment . Many countries especially the developing ones, have expressed an interest in these complexe as a means of developing their arid areas and hastening the introduction of nuclear power. One or more of the complexe that have been under study, not include agriculture based on desalted water produced by nuclear power desalination plants. In view, of the interest being shaon in agroinsdustrial complexes , selynnis prepare this monograph. It consists of 8 chapters. Chapter 1 presents through introduction the object of the studies.Chapter 2 treats of the low - cost energy. Chapter 3 approaches the desalination of sea - water . Cahpter 4 shows the pawer intenoive industries . Chapter 5 explains the use of desalted water in agriculture . Chapter 6 ,7 evake area - industrial complexes and economic considerations in the industrial sector and cahpter 8 finaly gives other considerations . |
