Note générale :	The utilisation of ERTS-1 data in 18 developping countries has been reviewed and evaluated. This overall assessment is supported by more detailled economic evaluation in four selected countries : Bolivia, Thaïland, Kenya and Bostswana. Two quantitative economic evaluations were conducted one on the benefits to be derived from improved rice-crop forecasting in Thaïland and the other on benefits stemming from improved range-carrying-capacity estimations in Kenya. Additional qualitative evaluations were made of potential improvement in mineral exploration (principally in Bolivia and Botswana), water ressources mangement (mainly in the Mekong basin and the Okavango delta) and cartographic mapping.
