Note générale : |
Iodine, in addition to its many medical uses, has long been recognized as an effective agent for disinfection of drinking water. In concentrations to be applied in polluted water, with a high initial iodine demande, physiologically toxic levels of iodine will be present. For this reason iodine disinfection should be limited to emergency use and only to those emergency situation where chlorine compound are giving too many problems. e.g by clogging of the dosing device. |
