Most of the vast geographical areas remains unsurveyed, and the existing ressource data of date. The knowledge of remote sensing has already spred to west africa, however, only the information aspect of this new technology is currently receiving attention there. Accra Ghana, was the site of on an April 1975 conference on remote sensing which was sponsored jointly by Ghana's council for scientific and industrial research and USAID. In Ghana and Nigeria, the potential exists for operating remote sensing units that will accelerate the progress of developpement in these countries. A measure of this potential is the availabity of highly-Skilled manpower in ghananian and nigerian universities. |
