Note générale :	This review of experience gained with trickle irrigation has been undertaken in consideration of the fact that there are countries where trickle irrigation has now developed beyond the stage of an experimental system, and that developed as well as developing countries are very eayer to learn from their experience. The increasing interest in applying trickle irrigation to large scale agriculture is not simply for wake economy reasons/ it has also arisin because of the decrease in available manpower, the need to reduce equipement and operation cost, and endeavaurs to obtain products of better quality and higher returns, the possibility of applying water of different qualities needs to be examined. Further development is still expected and extended efforts must be made to study the wide range of effects characterizing trickle irrigation.
