This report describing hgroundwater occurrence in 130 square - mile area of the central maryland piedmart, is originally designed for use by the US environmental protection agency in replying to a reouest for designation of the aquifers to be sole or principal source of groundwater however, the information contained in the report is pertinent to other srystalline rock areas as well. The study area is underlain chiefly buchristalline rock and partly by unaltered sand stones and silstones the groundwater is derived from local precipitation and generally occurs under water - table conditions. Its movementis uestricted by the lack of inter connected openings, and most groundwater occurs within 300 fect of land surface . Hydrographs indicate to long - term change in groundwater storage . A few wells yield more than 100 gallons per minute or less, most specific capacuities are less - than 1.0gallon per minute per fout... |
