Note générale :	This report is about cereal production in upper volta. This report showed that the cereal imports reached 170, 000 mt in 1974 although domestic production about met domestic demand in 1975. Average cereal demand is projected to increase by 25, 000 mt annually between 1975 and 1980 and 27,000 mt annually 1980 and 1985. Urban demand account for about 25 per cent of the increased food requirements. If domestic food production is not increased, potential cereal defits could reach 125, 000 mt in 1980 and 270, 000 in 1985. Agronomic research shows consist cereal responses under continuous intensive cultivation to N and P, but less consist responses to K and S.
