Note générale :	Regional and national problems of water salinity in Israel are considered in relation to the applicatoin of various desalination technic, and in particular, electrodialysis. Within the next decade, all the available fresh water supplies will be fully exploited, and desalination will become necessary. Moreover, when this stage is reached, the steadily increasing salinity of the existing fresh water resources will become a further difficulty. The following findings are reported : water supply in inland arid regions, salinity control of coastal aquifers, reduction of salinity of existing supplies.
