Note générale :	An attempt is made to quantify the degradation of the sahel (Northern Niger) from the climatology stand point to matter of fact over the years the following phenomena are observec through 6 parts. Part 1 presents two remarks : an incrase in evapotranspiration especially during and immediately before the reany season, a lessening of precipitation, especially in the early part of the reany season. Part 2 presents 3 points. Those points treat of the quantity of rain and the number of rainy days. Part 3 gives the water budget of the regions of Tumbuktu, Mopti and Bamako. Part 4 evokes the start and the terminate rainy season. Part 5 examines the total duration of the rains and part 6 lastly, explains the use of climatic fluctuation in the refion studied.
