Note générale :	Water temperature, as well as meteorologie and hydraulic variable whioch influence the energy budget of the San Diego aqueduct in southern California, were continuously monitored for a 1 year period beginning july 24, 1973. The incaming solar and atmospheric radiation, windspeed and direction, water temperature and the wet-and dry-bulb air temperatures were recorded at 10 minutes intervals at each end of the 26-kilometer concrete-lined canal, while the flow rates and stages were determined at hourly intervals for five locations. While only daily averaged values are presented in this report, a magnetic tape containing all the data can be obstainded from the automatic data processing Unit Geological survey, water ressources Division, Restar, VA 22092. This reports presents all informations incessary for the use and interpretation opf these data. Windspeeds are typically low during the early morning hours and at maximum duting the late after noon, howere, they are variable spatially.
