Titre de série : Etude de l'intensité de la trajectoire du cyclone Titre : Etude de l'intensité de la trajectoire du cyclone Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Rossignol, D. ; Chedhomme, P. Mention d'édition : DEM/ASECNA Editeur : DEM/ASECNA Année de publication : 1977 ISBN/ISSN/EAN : CI-03745 Note générale : This study is undertaken, to improve our knowelge on the forecast of the intensity and trajectories of tropical lurricane we applied rwo methods to Barbara. The first method is the vernan, J.Dvorok's it consists of analysing very carefully the hurricane's cloud patterns by using the satellite pictures. Using Vernon, J Dvork's method in Barbara study the results allow as to conclude that this ways is very confident. The second method consist in analysing the upper-air winds fields (specially at 500 on 300 mb) to do so we are aware for two points: a) Gray's hypothesis suggest that in huricane thermal structure this hypothesis allowed the same idea of future intensity of the hurricans. b) The existance of steering current which implies from rassiby and riehl's studies. The intensity and the direction of this steering current control the hurricane motion lesing this second method in Barbara study we found more satisfaction at 500 mb than at 300 mb.
