To make a more comprehensive assessment of irrigation performance the relative evapotranspiration is also taken into account. The calculated efficiency values are also compared with values obtained elswhere. Firstly in section 2 some information will be given on the SIWARE model and the different ways in which drainage water is reused in Egypt . Section 3, contains the definitions of the different irrigation efficiencies used by the ICID will be discussed.
