Abstract : Since 2016, the government of Benin has planned to ensure universal access to drinking water for the entire Beninese population. In line with the government's ambition, the "Construction of ninety-five (95) SAEPmV" project was launched. The arrondissement of Atomey has thus benefited from a SAEPmV, which will be built to facilitate access to drinking water.
This report deals with the "Design and sizing of a multi-village drinking water supply system (SAEPmV) in the Atomey district of Benin". The methodology adopted consisted in first taking stock of the current drinking water supply system. Then, on the basis of data made available to us within the framework of the project, we were able to estimate needs and size the SAEPmV. The system is supplied by a borehole with an operating flow rate of 68 m3/h. This borehole is equipped with an SP60-15 pump. Two water towers with respective capacities of 80 m3 and 200 m3 are planned for Atomey 1 and Atomey 2. Water supply points will be provided by standpipes and private connections at the start of the project, but 100% of the supply will be provided by private connections by the end of the project. The system comprises a 45,148 m long delivery network (PEHD PN10 pipe) and a 64,376 ml distribution network (PEHD PN10 pipe) at Atomey 1 and 25,984 ml (PEHD PN10 pipe) at Atomey 2. The total cost of the project is 2,267,818,445 CFA francs, including VAT. |
