Titre : Ranching / Mixed agriculture program in Niger : A Feasibility study for Africare Type de document : texte imprimé Mention d'édition : Texas Tech University Editeur : Texas Tech University Année de publication : 1974 ISBN/ISSN/EAN : CI-08653 Note générale : The feasibility of establishing a ranching mixed agriculture operation in the pastoral zone of Niger is examined bya team of scientists from Texas Tech University the results of this short - term study indicate that a ranching.mixed agriculture operation of approximately 675,000 ac can be established in area approximately 70 to 120 km northeast of Goure, Niger . Curent data indicate that the site northeast of gourne, is typical of a major portion of the pastoral zone of Niger and that experiences gained in establishing and operating a Manching/Mixed agriculture operation at that location will be applicable to many other areas in the sahel the operational system proposed will restore and sustain the productivity of the land and greatly increase the per -capita income to manch residents. Since the succes of the proposed operation largely depends upon use of ground water to irrigate forage crops for use during droughts it is recommended that some preliminary well drilling and testing be done immediately Langues : Anglais (eng) Mots-clés : Agriculture Ranching Equipement PUITS Pluviométrie Climat Alimentation en eau Sécheresse Elevage Etude de Faisabilité Index. décimale : 630 Agriculture et techniques connexes Résumé : The feasibility of establishing a ranching mixed agriculture operation in the pastoral zone of Niger is examined bya team of scientists from Texas Tech University the results of this short - term study indicate that a ranching.mixed agriculture operation of approximately 675,000 ac can be established in area approximately 70 to 120 km northeast of Goure, Niger .
