Note générale : |
One of the paradoxes of agriculture in the developing countries is that, despite massive investment in infrastructure projects such as canal systems, critically important imputs such as irrigation water often remain beyond the reach of most farmers. The obstacle may be a physical one, like the nonoperatibility of a project due an ecological imbalance, or it may be institutional, or a combinaison of both. In these circumstances, low-cost indigenous technology can sometimes place the critical imput within farmer's reach. |
