The cost of municipal and industrial ground water, at the welle head in the North Atlantic region in 1970 generally ranged from 15 to 5 cents per thousand gallons. The cost of ground water at the well head is low in areas of productive aquifers, but owing to the cost of connecting pipe, costs increase significantly in small to modeste supplies of ground water offer favorable cots alternatives to planners. Un the methodology employed, cost of drilling and testing, pumping, equipement, engeneering for the well fied, amortization at 5 1/8 percent interest, maintenance, and cost of piwer are considered.
