Titre de série : US geological Survey Water Supply Paper, 1532-I Titre : Effects of grazing on runoff and sediment yield from desert rangeland at badger wash in western colorado, 1953-73 Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Lusby, C. G. Mention d'édition : US Government Printing Office Editeur : US Government Printing Office Année de publication : 1979 ISBN/ISSN/EAN : CI-10773 Note générale : The primary purpose of this sdudy is to compare runof and sediment yield from grazed and ungrazed watersheds. Other objectives are to determine (1) the amount and rate of runoff and sediment yield from storms of various magnitude and duration, and (2) the relative infiltration and erosion rates on different soils and their response to grazing treatment. The geological survey measured precipitation, runoff, erosion, and sedimentation, and made periodic measurement of vegetal cover and utilization during the study, 1967-73. E. ; Malcolm, R. L. Mention d'édition : US. Government Printing Office Editeur : US. Government Printing Office Année de publication : 1979 ISBN/ISSN/EAN : CI-10782 Note générale : Liquid chromatography described in this paper is an analytical technique that can be very efficient in both the concentration and isolation of natural and antropogenic organic analytes. Also the paper deals with the utilization of two types of liquid chromatography : liquid-solid adsorption chromatrography with a parous acrylic resin, and size exclusion chromatography with a polyacryloylmorpholine gel, to concentrate and classify hydrophobic organic acid constituents from water. The purpose is to discuss integration of these various technique and to develop a flow sheme for evaluation of hydrophobic - organic - acid constituents in a natural water sample. Mention d'édition : US. Government Printing Office Editeur : US. Government Printing Office Année de publication : 1977 ISBN/ISSN/EAN : CI-10779 Note générale : Peak floodflows from thousands of observation sites within the conterminous United states were studied to provide a guide for estimating potential maximum floodfows. Data were selected from 883 sites with drainage areas of less than 10.000 square miles (25.900 square kilometers) and were grouped into regional sets. Outstanding floods for each region were plotted on graphs and envelope curves were computed that offer reasonnable limits for estimates of maximum floods . The curves indicate that floods may occur that are two to three times greater than those known for most streams.
