Titre de série : US geological Survey Water Supply Paper, 1817-G Titre : Concentration and fractionation of hydrophobic organic acid constituents from natural waters by liquid chromatography : organic substances in water Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Thurman, M. E. ; Malcolm, R. L. Mention d'édition : US. Government Printing Office Editeur : US. Government Printing Office Année de publication : 1979 ISBN/ISSN/EAN : CI-10782 Note générale : Liquid chromatography described in this paper is an analytical technique that can be very efficient in both the concentration and isolation of natural and antropogenic organic analytes. Also the paper deals with the utilization of two types of liquid chromatography : liquid-solid adsorption chromatrography with a parous acrylic resin, and size exclusion chromatography with a polyacryloylmorpholine gel, to concentrate and classify hydrophobic organic acid constituents from water. The purpose is to discuss integration of these various technique and to develop a flow sheme for evaluation of hydrophobic - organic - acid constituents in a natural water sample. Government Printing Office Année de publication : 1979 ISBN/ISSN/EAN : CI-10772 Note générale : Groundwater development in the new valley project of Egypte's western desert, like that in many other parts of the world, has been troubled by serious corrosion of metal casings, screens, pumps, pipes, and fittings. Over the years there have been numerous observations and investigations of this problem and various theories remedies have been proposed in administrative documents, open-file reports, and other commucations. This report summarizes such work to 1977, including that of the author during the period 1962-64. It discusses corrosion control in the light of theory and operational experience with the objective of providing useful background information for all many have such problems.
