US geological Survey Water Supply Paper, 1887. Maximum floodflows in the conterminous united states / Crippen, J. R.
Titre de série : US geological Survey Water Supply Paper, 1887 Titre : Maximum floodflows in the conterminous united states Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Crippen, J. R. ; Bue, C. D. Mention d'édition : US. Government Printing Office Editeur : US. Government Printing Office Année de publication : 1977 ISBN/ISSN/EAN : CI-10779 Note générale : Peak floodflows from thousands of observation sites within the conterminous United states were studied to provide a guide for estimating potential maximum floodfows. Data were selected from 883 sites with drainage areas of less than 10.000 square miles (25.900 square kilometers) and were grouped into regional sets. Outstanding floods for each region were plotted on graphs and envelope curves were computed that offer reasonnable limits for estimates of maximum floods . The curves indicate that floods may occur that are two to three times greater than those known for most streams. Mention d'édition : US. Government Printing Office Editeur : US. Government Printing Office Année de publication : 1978 ISBN/ISSN/EAN : CI-10780 Note générale : This report provides methods to estimate runoff - volume and floodpeak frequencies for small drainage basin in wyoming. The area of investigation was confined to large valleys and plains where most roads are built and where very little streamflow information is available. A total of 49 drainage basins were instrumented for this study, 14 of these basins were omitted from the analyses because of insufficient data.
