This report deals about the appraisal mission for the development of the middle belt of Nigeraia wich is comprised, in the main, of the broad valleys of the middle Niger and Benue and the lower reaches of their tributaries. The appraisal was exitent of constraints and the action required to promote development. It was agreed that it would be better to divde the appraisal into three stages. Stage 1 was to be the middle Niger and related areas from below Kainji dam to Lokodja, stage 2 would be the Benue Valley and its tributaries, and stage 3 woulf be the lower Niger, Lokoja to the Delta below Ouitsha. |
