Titre de série : IAHS Publication Titre : Sediment and stream water quality in a changing environment: trends and explanation (proceedings of symposium ...held in Vienna, Austria, 11-24 august 1991) Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Peters, N. E. ; Waling, D. E. Mention d'édition : IAHS Editeur : IAHS Année de publication : 1991 ISBN/ISSN/EAN : 978-0-947571-08-5 Note générale : The objective of the symposium for which proceeding are compiled is to foster a dialog between scientists researching sediment related issues and those researching water-quality-related issues. A specific focus is the evaluation of existing knowledge of the effects of environmental change on sediment transport stream water quality and the interactions between sediment and water quality. In particular there is an interest in trend detection as it might relate to some control explanation. One section on these proceedings is dedicated to sediment-related issues including land use effects on sediment transport. The second-section is decided to water quality issues including effects of water quality on biota. The third and last section is dedicated to linkages between sediment and water quality. Investigations of metal partionning and nutrient transport are highlighted in this section. E. Mention d'édition : United States Gouvernment Printing Office Editeur : United States Gouvernment Printing Office Année de publication : 1984 ISBN/ISSN/EAN : CI-05077 Note générale : The seven major dissolved ions in treams-sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium, chloride, sulfate, and bicarbonate - and their non dissolved solids from 56 basins in the conterminous United States and Hawaï were correlated with bedrock type, annual stream temperature of their respective basins through multiple-linear-regression equations to predict annual yields. The study was restricted to basins underlain bu limestone, sandstone, or crystalline rock. Depending on the constituent, yields ranged from about 10 to 100,000 kilograms per square kilometer.
