Abstract : The focus of this paper is the Detailed Preliminary Design of DOUGOUMATO’S Water Transport and Distribution System. It is located in the municipality of Koubia, in the region of Hauts-Bassins. The population covered by the said WDS is 27,024 at year zero and of 27,024 at projected year of 2039. The daily demand is estimated at 417.57 m3, peaking at the value of 480.21 m3. At this point, the planned number of delivery points is only of 17 fountains and 2 watering trough. For the needs of water to be covered to the project year, 26.68 m3/h of ground water should be mobilized daily. The maximum number of daily pumping hours, 18h, is also to be taken into account. The water pumped is stored in two 50m3 tanks with an elevation of 8m itch. It is to be noted that, an extra well of 7m3 is needed on top of the 20m3 already existing .The distribution part of the network (storage to delivery points) consist of 14,301.21 linear meters of 10 bar PVC pipes with diameters ranging from 63 mm to 200 mm. The production part (well to storage tank) consists of 4,187.95 linear meters of 16 bars, 125 mm PVC pipes. The minimal pressure at every node is 0.5bars. The pumping head is estimated at 120.3m. The pumpµ
ing station will mainly be powered by the SONABEL, an electric generator of 33kVA is provided for hypothetical electrical shortage. The global cost of the project is estimated at 275,529, 438.59 FCFA. The price of a cubic meter of water is fixed at 315 F. |
