Abstract : This brief deals with the supply of drinking water to the villages of Toussiana, Yorokofesso, and Nianaba in the commune of Toussiana in the Hauts-Bassins region of Burkina Faso.
For a population of 20,337 inhabitants to be served by 2040, the technical aspects addressed in this memorandum make it possible to use the water from two large-flow boreholes (30 (m3/h) and 33 (m3/h)) drilled as part of the AEPA-4R project.
A water production center comprising a water tower with a capacity of 300 m3 in reinforced concrete placed on a hill at an altitude of 502 m with a height under the invert of 5 m located approximately 5,347 km from borehole 1 and 3,515 km from borehole 2 has been selected. The pumps selected in the study are Grundfos pumps type SP 30-12 MS 6000 with a flow rate of 30,2 [m3/h] and a HMT of 90,5 m at the operating point, the motor power is 11 kW (FR3 pump) and SP 30-14 with a flow rate of 32,5 [m3/h] and a HMT of 95 m at the operating point, the motor power is 13 kW (FR1 pump). The water treatment will be done with chlorine tablets introduced directly into the tank. The water will be distributed by gravity to all the villages in a network of PVC PN 10 pipes. This network follows the existing tracks and roads, and serves the population with drinking water through private connections and standpipes.
The diameters of the pipes vary from 250 mm to 63 mm, except for the pipes of less than 20 m feeding LFBs, which are DN50.The cumulative length of the pipelines is about 20,037Km. The service system of the three villages includes 13 standpipes, 11 of which were recovered from the AEPS and 2 new ones to be built. These standpipes will be equipped with 3 taps each (1 tap of 0,33 (l/s) and 2 taps of 0,2 (l/s)) and will operate for 12 hours. Discharge will be alternated for the two boreholes by 2030 through a PVC PN16 network with a total length of 6234m. The boreholes will be supplied with electrical power by the SONABEL electricity network, the subscription power to be subscribed is 50kVA. A PANTHER-45 YC type generator set with a power of 45 kVA will be installed at each pumping station.
The management of the center will be ensured by ONEA.
The overall cost of the works is estimated at 580 000 000(FCFA) and the selling price of the water 𝑚3 will be in accordance with the tariff in force at ONEA. |
