Areas of very high desrtification hazard are shown to be those arid and semi - arid regions with very heavy peassure of land - use. The threat of desertification is shown to be highest bey and the margins of the full deserts, but the risk extends wherver drought marks the seasonal or periodic extension of aridity. |
