Abstract : The work developed in this project entitled "Technical study of a reinforced concrete water tower of 2500 m3 (R17) in the framework of the project of reinforcement and extension of the drinking water supply system of the city of Niamey (Niger)" has for main objective to propose a dimensioning of a water tower of 2500 m3 in order to ensure in a sustainable way the supply of drinking water in sufficient quantity to the populations of the South-East of the city of Niamey. The technical study was carried out in two parts: the first part allowed to estimate the water needs on the project horizon and to determine the useful capacity of the reservoir, and the second part was dedicated to the structural dimensioning of the work. This water tower has a cylindrical-truncated tank resting on a 33.6 m high tower. To carry out the dimensioning of the water tower, we are led to break it down into several structural elements that are: the skylight, the upper dome, the upper belt, the truncated cone tank, the lower belt, the cylindrical tank, the lower dome, the support belt, the tower, the foundation and the access chimney. The formwork plan of the castle including the different geometric characteristics was given by the design office. The study of the various elements of the structure was conducted in accordance with the regulations defined by the BAEL 91 modified 99, the DTU 13.12 , the Fascicule 74 and the rules of NV65. The nature of the steels used in the reinforcement of the castle are High Adhesion steels HA Fe500 and range from diameter HA8 to HA32.The concrete used is 350 Kg/m3 to ensure a good watertightness of the structure (Class A structure). The environmental aspect is addressed by identifying the negative impacts and proposing mitigation measures.
The overall cost of the project is estimated at one billion eight million eight hundred and ninety-four thousand six hundred and forty-six CFA francs (1,008,894,646 CFA francs all tax included), involving 760 m3 of concrete and 84 tons of steel. |
